Test your knowldge on traffic signs

EDI has launched the second phase of the award winning "Mama I'm Home" Road and Traffic Safety campaign starring 'Edi' the Super Car in the lead role of a Teacher!

Driving licences can be obtained by adult UAE citizens/residents after training from an authorized driving school in Dubai. If you are 18-21 year of age, you can apply for a probationary licence.

Documents required are Passport (original & copy) with residence stamp, No-Objection Certificate from employer & 8 photos.

If you are a Dubai resident and/or UAE national holding a passport issued in Dubai, you should have:

1. previously been issued with a Dubai driver's license within the last 20 years.
2. A Valid Residence Visa (except UAE Passport holders)
3. Passed an Eye Test (the test results should be uploaded online from the optician)

You may be eligible to transfer your existing driving license, without having to take a driving test or going to a driving school, if you have a valid driving license from some countries. You have to be a citizen of the country given below with current resident status in UAE. This means that former residents from these countries who may be holding permanent driver licenses are not eligible and you will have to follow all the steps to get a new license

Vehicle technical inspection to be carried out by an authorised vehicle testing partner. Applicable only to:

1. Vehicles older than three years
2. Pre-Owned Vehicles
3. Imported Vehicles or vehicles purchased from a private enterprises

Please note: Vehicle Technical Inspection is valid for only one month and you are required to renew your vehicle registration within 1 month of the Vehicle Technical Inspection
