EDI - Training Courses - Forklift Driving

The Light Forklifts course prepares a student for the RTA Road Test, enabling students to get a Dubai Driving License category 7. Students completing this course and passing the RTA Road Tests are licensed to drive light forklifts. The course offers an introduction to the different types of forklifts. Detailed lessons on engine and loading capacity, the different types of levers along with their controls and how to operate in different working areas and in various weather conditions as well as a focus on how to reduce maintenance expenses, increase efficiency, reduce accidents and improve operating skills, form part of the course. Students are taught in detail about load control and how to load various kinds of materials: at which angle will the load be adjustable. Light Forklifts criteria- Weight should be less than 7 tons.

Training Preferences
These students can choose their training to be either Regular or Friday

3 Days every week (2 classes every alternate day = 1 hour of training)

Friday
Students can take their training only on Friday ( 4 classes every Friday = 1 Hour 40 minutes of training).Light Forklift Training Course can be taken from EDI Head Office in Quasis and AL Quoz ( Location map ). For Training chosen to take at the Head Office student needs to come to the Head Office himself or can use the EDI Transport Service at an additional charge.

Procedure to Register

Student File will be opened in our in-house RTA Branch by getting the RTA Traffic Department form typed in Arabic for AED 30.
Eye Test will be done at our in - house Eye testing facility for AED 100. (Receipt will be attached with the RTA Traffic Department Form.
RTA Learning Permit is issued on payment of RTA Admission Fees of AED 330. The Charges for all Light Categories (Light Motor Vehicles, Motor Cycle and Light Forklift) and AED 430 for all Heavy Vehicle (Bus , Truck, Heavy Forklift and Shovel) Categories. EDI admission fees of AED 220 will also be charged.
Student can then pay by choosing his preference of training structure, along with lecture fees and if required transportation fees and makes a minimum advance payment for registration of AED 500.
On registering the student will receive the EDI Student Folder consisting of Driving Manual, Signal Card, Learn Driving DVD, Lecture Schedule Booklet, EDI Trainee Rights and Responsibilities and the EDI Loyalty Card

Lectures for Light Forklift

All students who register for Light Forklift Training Course need to take 3 lectures from EDI. These lectures are conducted on weekdays as well as Fridays. We offer these lectures in different languages such as English/Hindi/Urdu and Arabic at different locations across Dubai such as EDI Head Office (Al Quasis), AL Quoz, Al Aweer, Al Raffa and Satwa .

Please note that all students have to bring their Registration Card (MDT), RTA Training Book and Learning Permit for the lectures atendance.

Please ensure all compulsory lectures are attended before you appear for your Road Test.
Please ensure you have attended the Lecture 2 (Traffic Signs, Signals and Road Markings) before your signal test.
Please ensure you have attended the Lecture No. 3 before your assessment test.

Obtain your RTA learners permit prior to your first lesson and carry it with you throughout the training period. Renew the permit once it expires.
Attend your first and all subsequent lessons and tests with necessary lenses/ glasses.
Not to be absent from classes without informing the concerned reception staff 48 hours before the class time or you will be charged for the classes.
Ensure proper payments for training and tests are made on time to avoid unnecessary problems.
